From a dream to a project: 15 years at the helm of Royal Son Bou

Today, February 1st, is a date marked on my calendar. It has been 15 years since I took on the role of Director of the Royal Son Bou Family Club, and with it, a personal goal I had set for myself at the age of 13 became a reality: to one day become a hotel director.
Fifteen years give you time to look back calmly. Not everything has been easy, but everything has been —and continues to be— a learning experience. I learn every day and I still make mistakes often. Mistakes that, over time, turn into learning and better judgement.
Over these 15 years, the sector has changed profoundly. Technology has transformed the way we work, communicate and interact with our guests. And now, with the arrival of artificial intelligence, we know that change will continue.
The hotel has also changed. Or rather, it has grown. The needs and expectations of our guests have pushed us to evolve, to improve day by day and to become even more professional.
There is no doubt that 15 years involve many decisions: some easy, others difficult, and many that are not always visible.
After 15 years, I still believe in the same things. And if anything, I believe in them more strongly than ever.
- People. I was clear about this from the beginning, and I am even more convinced today. Without a strong team, without surrounding yourself with good people and committed professionals, progress is impossible. If I have come this far, it is thanks to the team around me. People are what truly make projects grow.
- Attention to detail. My previous experience in this hotel and in other stages of my career, together with my passion for this sector, have made attention to detail part of our daily routine. Caring about the details is one of the keys that allows us to keep improving.
- Continuous training. I have always believed that training —both my own and that of the team— must be at the centre of everything we do. Personally, I have grown enormously thanks to it. The creation of the Employee Training Grant a few years ago is a clear commitment to the ongoing development of our team.
- Having clear ideas. From the beginning, we set goals that we have gradually achieved and replaced with new ones: becoming more professional, further specialising in the family hotel sector and continuing to advance in sustainability. Along this path, the creation of the Royal Son Bou photovoltaic plant has been a significant milestone.
Today, at the start of 2026, we look ahead with many important challenges still to come. Constant improvement is our obsession. The enthusiasm I feel is no longer the same as it was 15 years ago, because it too has evolved. It is now a more serene enthusiasm, with greater judgement and a deeper awareness that every decision has consequences.
With this perspective, and with the privilege of continuing to lead such a wonderful project as the Royal Son Bou Family Club, we face the future with the same commitment as always: to keep improving, day by day.
