Son Bou has a perfect location if you like hiking, because the urbanization has two different routes of the “Camí de Cavalls”, a path that surrounds the entire island.

The easiest route will take you through fields and pastures, bordering the humid area of the “Prat de Son Bou” to the virgin beach of Atalis and, from there, you can reach Santo Tomás. Near the beach of Atalis you may see some horses. This route can be done in about 2 and a half hours and is highly recommended to do with children.

The other route is headed in the opposite direction, starting at the Early Christian Basilica. The itinerary starts with a climb that offers you a panoramic view of Son Bou, followed by a fairly steep descent that reaches Cala Llucalari. Then, once in the ravine of Cala en Porter, you will pass through fields, a wetland and finally you will reach the beach of Cala en Porter. It is a route of medium difficulty and the distance is 8 km, so it is not recommended for small children or during the hottest months.
