What is Travelife?

Founded in 2007, the Travelife Sustainability System is a certification system, dedicated to achieving sustainable practices within the tourism industry. It aims to provide companies with realistic sustainability goals, tools and solutions to implement positive change within their businesses and supply chains. The system is managed by ABTA – The Travel Association in the UK.

Travelife for Hotels and Accommodations is a certification system that helps hotels and accommodations manage and monitor their social and environmental impacts and communicate their achievements to customers.

Travelife for Hotels and Accommodations provides a range of support to help members progress towards their third party audit, including an online sustainability checklist based on European and International standards, which enables properties to manage their performance and their monitor progress. Once subscribed, properties receive a full, third party, environmental and social audit, and if they fulfill the requirements of the sustainability system criteria, they may achieve a Gold award, or Award of Excellence. This award can then be highlighted in their brochures, on their websites or other guest communications, as well as displaying their award plaque in a public area of their property.

In August 2015 the Royal Son Bou Family Club was awarded with the Travelife Gold Award.

How can you help us?

It's the small actions taken together that make a big difference and you, while staying with us, can help us achieve our goal of becoming a sustainable destination.
These are some of the actions you can help us with on a daily basis:
-We have placed small bins in the kitchen so that you can separate your glass, packaging and general waste. Use them so that our maids can take the waste out of your apartment properly separated.
-Please leave towels in the bathtub only when you want us to change them for you. If you leave them hanging, we will understand that you prefer to use them again. In this way we can contribute to saving energy and water and reduce the use of detergents.
-Save water by not letting it run unnecessarily.
-Turn off the lights when you leave the apartment.
-Deposit used batteries in the special container at Reception.

Some recommendations

Patron saint festivities

Each popular festival has its own peculiarities. In Menorca, where horses are the main protagonists, respect for these animals, their riders and the musicians who accompany them is essential. Here are some important recommendations when it comes to enjoying the island's patron saint festivities:
• Parties are outdoors, so dress lightly and comfortably.
• Wear suitable footwear, make sure it is closed to move safely between horses and people.
• Avoid entering the squares at the time of the “jaleo”, especially if you are with small children.
• Respect the animals. Horses are the stars of our fiestas. The riders and musicians are essential for everything to run smoothly.
